Our teas
What’s the difference between Uji Matcha, Organic Hojicha and Matcha Plus+?
Authentic Uji Matcha is finely ground, shade-grown Japanese green tea — the same matcha we serve at TSURU CAFE. Organic Hojicha is an Organic JAS-certified roasted green tea powder from Kirishima, Kagoshima, with a smooth, toasty flavour. Matcha Plus+ is a caffeine-free green drink made from 100% Japanese mulberry leaf — it looks and feels like matcha, but contains no green tea.
Which products are caffeine-free?
Matcha Plus+ contains 0mg caffeine per stick. Uji Matcha and Organic Hojicha are made from green tea, so they naturally contain caffeine.
Do your products contain sugar?
No sugar is added to any of our teas. Matcha Plus+ contains 0g sugar per stick. If you add milk or syrup, check those for sugar.
Can I drink Matcha Plus+ if I’m pregnant, breastfeeding, or giving it to children?
Matcha Plus+ is caffeine-free with no added sugar. Everyone’s body is different, so if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or are buying for a child, please ask your doctor before adding a new product to your routine.
Where are your products made?
All three are made in Japan. Uji Matcha and Organic Hojicha are produced by Hishiwaen, and our Organic Hojicha is grown in Kirishima, Kagoshima.
Preparing & storing
How do I make a café-style latte at home?
Iced Matcha or Hojicha Latte: whisk 4g of powder with a little warm water (70–80°C) until smooth. Pour 150g of fresh milk or oat milk over ice, add 8g of agave syrup if you like, then slowly pour the tea over the milk.
Matcha Plus+ Latte: mix 2 sticks with 30ml of water, pour 150ml of milk or oat milk over ice, then add the Matcha Plus+ mixture.
How many servings are in each pack?
Uji Matcha (30g): about 7 lattes at 4g each. Organic Hojicha (50g): about 12 lattes at 4g each. Matcha Plus+ (20 sticks): 20 daily drinks with water, or 10 café-style lattes.
How should I store my tea?
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from heat, humidity and direct sunlight, and seal the pack tightly after opening.
